Dear colleague,

The Czech Skating Federation has the honor and pleasure of organizing the World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2003 to be held in Ostrava, Czech republic, February 24^th – March 2^nd, 2003.

The venue for the championship is The Palace of Culture and Sports as the main rink and Ice Rink Poruba as the practice rink, both in Ostrava.

The Organizing Commitee of the World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2003 is oficially providing you with relevant and useful information in this document to fulfill the needs of media wishing to cover this event.

Acording to the following procedure, we need to recieve a Media Accreditation Form from each journalist wishing to attend this event in order to accredit all media wishing to attend. Please submit these forms by mail by the due date.

To assist you in your planning, please find enclosed the following attachments and application forms for MEDIA ACCREDITATION, which you are kindly requested to fill in and return completed and signed before the closing date.

Please note:

	Only professional journalists and photographers will be accredited
	Each applicant requesting accreditation must fill in a form
	Incomplete application will not be considered
	Late application requests will only be considered if space is available

Useful local and general information about site of the venue:

	Location of The Palace of Culture and Sports is located right in Vitkovice, which is a part of Ostrava
	The Organizing Committee will provide official free transportation for all accredited media personnel between the officials press hotel and the arena
	Nationals of some countries need an entry visa for Czech Republic. Please consult your local travel agent or nearest Czech Consulate.
	Standard time of the Czech Republic is European standard time
	Local currency: Czech crone. The current rates are: 1 USD…30,8 CZK, 1 Euro…30,3 CZK

I. Accreditation Application Form

	Application Process. The application form should be completed and submitted for each journalist planning to attend. Please note that Freelance journalists and photographers must enclose a confirmation letter from the editor of the publication commissioning coverage of the event. Late application requests will only be considered if space is available.
	Applications must be completed in full with agency/editor signatures and stamps to ensure legitimacy of all applications. Please note that accreditation approval will be granted to professional journalists and photographers only. Please mail back the application form by January 13^th, 2003.

The Harmony Club Hotel is typical town hotel in a very advantageous position. The hotel has ten floors with a 156 rooms with bathrooms, TV and telephone. A special feature of the Manager single rooms are the business facilities including computers so that you can carry working in your room.

The red and blue link connected this hotel with rinks.

OC Office will be in the hotel near the reception desk.

III. Telecommunications Services

The Press center at the Palace of Culture and Sports will be opened from the first day of official practices 24th of February 2003 until the conclusion of the Gala on Sunday, 2nd of March 2003. Workstations for journalists will be provided and Tel.s and fax machines will be available for general use on a pay-per-call basis to be paid in cash, or via major credit cards.

Ha-vel will oversee all telecommunications at the Palace of Culture and Sports They will supply the following:

To rent:	Tel. line (including hand set), mobile phones, fax machines (rental charges to be paid in cash or via credit cards)
To use:	Tel., fax machines (calling charges to be paid in cash or via credit cards). Phone cards will also be sold in the Press Center.
